From potato and papaya peels to lemon juice, from onion juice to fenugreek seeds paste, using home remedies is one of the best and most affordable ways of getting smooth skin and shiny hair.

Effective Ways to Use Honey For Radiating Bridal Skin and Shiny Hair

Honey is one of the most nutritionally rich natural products and is extremely beneficial for both skin and hair. It has healing antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties which help with skin issues such as acne, pimples, and uneven skin tone. The natural antibacterial and probiotic properties of honey help remove impurities without stripping hair and skin of its natural oils. It also helps in keeping the scalp healthy and the hair follicles clear, encouraging healthy hair growth. Let us help you with some tips on how to make honey a part of your day-to-day skincare and hair care regime.

How to use it?

1. Try applying raw honey directly on the skin and leave it for 20 minutes maximum.

2. After keeping it for 20 minutes, rinse and massage your face thoroughly with water.

3. You can use lukewarm water also to wash your face. It also penetrates deep inside your skin to give long-lasting hydration.

4. You can use honey in your bath to get a boost of antioxidants. It will give you a refreshing feeling like your skin will be hydrated and repaired. Just add two tablespoons of raw honey in a bowl of hot water and mix it well and add it to your bathtub filled with warm water.

2. Fights Acne

As we discussed earlier, honey is a natural antibacterial and has antifungal properties, so it prevents the bacterial buildup that breaks out in acne on your face. It helps to minimize the redness and irritation caused by acne.

How to use it?

1. Just apply raw honey to the affected area

2. Leave it for 10-15 minutes before washing it off with lukewarm water

3. Hydrating Hair Mask

If you have curly frizzy hair which is dry or damaged and cannot hold onto moisture for long, honey will help your hair to smoothen out and give it a glow.

How to use it?

1. In a small bowl, mix half a cup of honey and one-fourth cup of olive oil.

2. Microwave the mixture for a few seconds and apply it to your dry hair from scalp to ends (You do not want the mixture to be cold or extremely hot, just a bit warm)

3. Leave on for around 10-20 minutes and then rinse your hair well with shampoo. Olive oil helps smoothen out hair and fights frizziness. So, you can use this after your big day is over. After so many products being used on your hair for styling, even your hair needs some hydration and by using this you are avoiding chemicals too.

4. Bid Farewell to Clogged Pores

Clogged pores are the biggest reason for all the breakouts on your face like acne, pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads. You do not want a breakout on your wedding day and it is better if you avoid using chemical products. Even after the wedding, your skin wants some relaxation from all the makeup and creams used on it. So many products used regularly can block your pores. Honey works as a good pore cleanser.

How to use it?

1. To get rid of clogged pores try mixing red clay powder, orange peel powder, turmeric powder, rose water with honey.

2. Take one tablespoon of each ingredient and prepare a smooth paste.

3. Apply it all over your face and neck and leave it for 20 minutes.

4. Wash your face with lukewarm water and splash some cold water on your face at the end.

5. Get Rid of Itchy Scalp

Don’t worry, here is the situation when home remedies come in handy. You can use this remedy on your D-day, before going for a bath.

2. Apply this mixture to your dry scalp and hair to the ends properly.

3. Massage your scalp for few minutes and leave it for at least 10 minutes.

4. Rinse it off properly and then apply your shampoo. Banana is rich in potassium, vitamins, and natural oils. The mixture will help you regain your soft hair back and get rid of the dryness and itchiness. It will give a volumizing effect on your hair.

The honey starts to break down when coming in contact with water or the heat of your skin turning it into a gentler scrub. Try it every day to get a smooth and even skin texture.

Conclusion

Now we know that honey is not just to add sweetness to your food but can also be used for your DIY skincare and haircare remedies. Honey is a natural humectant and emollient. Humectants bind with water molecules to increase the water content of your skin and hair, while emollients build a protective layer that prevents moisture from escaping. Together they deeply moisturize the skin as well as soften and smooth the hair from roots to ends. Honey is full of antioxidants that supply essential nutrients to the tissues that support skin elasticity and hair strength. Honey's anti-inflammatory properties encourage the skin’s natural rejuvenation process, giving you a more youthful glow.

When it comes to skincare try to use raw honey and check the appearance of the product. Also, as mentioned raw honey tends to crystalize faster compared to regular honey. So you need to put the container in warm water before using it and this way you will be able to identify whether it is regular or raw honey. Always do a patch test before using the recommended ways to make sure it suits you. Never apply directly and especially when it is your special day you do not want to end up with another reaction from the mixture. Though honey is known as a safe ingredient for skin, raw and unadulterated honey may cause an allergic reaction to someone who is allergic to pollen and bee venom.
