Disha & Abhijit's Glamorous Mumbai Wedding At The St. Regis

The couple, Disha and Abhijit, share a unique love story that proves destiny is not just written for us, but by us. The two initially met during their degree college days and were rivals from the start, constantly arguing over their report cards and other trivial matters. However, fate had other plans as they surprisingly became good friends during their first college trip.

After graduation, they went their separate ways but stayed in touch, and eventually, Abhijit confessed his feelings for Disha. Although she wasn't ready at the time, they remained friends and continued to get to know each other better. Disha soon realized that Abhijit was the person she could be happy with - someone who was both funny and mature, tough yet soft inside.

They spent more time together and one day, Abhijit proposed to Disha for marriage, which she happily accepted. "Disha, I'm ready for that adrenaline rush...with you!" exclaimed Abhijit. They both felt most alive when their hearts skipped a beat.

As winter weddings excited them, they chose January as their wedding month. Wanting to put their personal touch on every event, they meticulously planned their wedding, paying attention to every minute detail. From shortlisting venues to choosing outfits, decor, Russian artists, singers, emcees, photographers, sound, background dancers, choreographers, and more, every aspect of their wedding was planned with love. Although it was an exerting experience, they enjoyed every tiny bit of the planning phase.

Mehndi/Sangeet Sundowner

The wedding event began with a Mehndi function that progressed into a lively Sundowner Sangeet. The couple chose the Turf Club at Mahalaxmi racecourse as the ideal venue for their Sundowner Sangeet celebration. The stunning South Bombay skyline and the lively floral decor were the standout features of the evening.

The couple's Sundowner outfits were a perfect blend of colors and well-coordinated.

The bride wore a custom-made coral lehenga by Rianta's Bridal Designer, adorned with yellow and turquoise florets and pearl handiwork. To complete the look, she paired it with a pastel yellow choker dupatta.

As a return gift for the Mehndi function, the couple customized a Live Lip Gloss Stand where all the female guests could choose their favorite color and flavor. The evening was made even more special with the energetic and lively performance by Musicurls Unwinded.

Wedding Day

For their wedding day, the couple desired a regal ambiance and venue to complement their special occasion. They ultimately chose the Astor Ballroom at St Regis Mumbai for their afternoon pheras and Glam night.

While the bride originally sought pastel or ivory garments for the pheras, the groom encouraged her to try a red lehenga, which ultimately became her preferred choice.

Disha looked stunning in the bold red ensemble, which became their favorite outfit of the series.

The groom, on the other hand, chose to wear an ivory sherwani with a beautiful pearl dupatta draped by the bride's sister-in-law, Ankita.

The couple also opted for a modern mandap with crystal chandeliers and floral backdrops, which enhanced the beauty of their ceremony.

Reception Night

Disha and Abhijit always knew that they didn't want a traditional and boring reception, where they would have to pose for hours on end with forced smiles. Instead, they decided to have a "Glam Night" that was more of a cocktail party with fun performances and meet and greets. They danced the night away, as it was the grand finale of their wedding festivities.

The bride looked stunning in a custom-made feather gown by Monisha Jaising, which was adorned with Swarovski crystals on an onion-pink base.

She also had her hair styled in a sleek and glamorous manner by Nilofer. Meanwhile, the groom looked dapper in a custom-made white tuxedo from Telon in Kemps Corner.

A week after their wedding, the couple had a momentary flashback when videos of another reception at the same venue, featuring Sid and Kiara, made rounds on social media. Nevertheless, everything fell into place at the right time for this couple, who went from being classmates to soulmates on their special day.
