Jaskirt and Balraj: A Romantic Proposal & Intimate Roka Ceremony

According to Jaskirt, Balraj and her first met at a Punjabi event held at Western University. The two quickly hit it off and spent the entire night conversing with ease. Jaskirt realized that this was the first time she felt so comfortable around someone. Balraj expressed that he knew Jaskirt was special from the moment they met.

A few days later, they went on their first date, enjoying burgers (Jaskirt's favorite food) and playing games at an arcade. Jaskirt describes Balraj as her soulmate, and they both cherish making each other laugh, considering each other to be their favorite person.

The Proposal

Jaskirt was taken to New York by Balraj during her birthday week, and it was her first time visiting the city. Balraj had planned numerous activities and sightseeing trips for Jaskirt. On the first night of their visit, Balraj surprised Jaskirt by taking her out for dinner at a Mexican restaurant and then informed her about a concert in Central Park.

Unbeknownst to Jaskirt, this was where her dream proposal was going to take place. In the early stages of their relationship, Jaskirt had shared her wish for a 'Tangled'-inspired proposal with floating lanterns. Balraj, being aware of this, contacted Proposal007 in New York to organize this romantic proposal.

The hanging lights and candles in the tree hut created the perfect ambiance for the proposal, and Balraj had even arranged for a photographer to capture the special moment. Jaskirt later described the proposal as a surreal, fairytale experience.

The Roka

An intimate Roka ceremony was held by Balraj and Jaskirt, where they invited their closest family members to bless the couple and get to know each other.

A beautiful cake, perfectly fitting the aesthetic of their intimate backyard Rokha, was cut to conclude the ceremony.

Jaskirt changed into a pre-draped saree from Dee Kapadiya and wore statement earrings from Papa Don't Preach, while Balraj opted for a light grey suit to compliment Jaskirt's bright outfit.

Jaskirt, who places great importance on photographs, decided to have a photoshoot to capture the love and celebration of the day.
