Wondering where to find your significant other? As times evolve, so do the different channels where you can meet your significant other. Read on below to see how you can find your S.O. and try some of these out yourself.

1. Dating Apps

You knew this was going to be on the list. We’re here to tell you that this actually works! According to a study conducted by the Pew Research Center in 2019, 12% of US adults say they have been married or in a committed relationship with someone they’ve met online.¹ This is a huge rise from 2013 when only 3% of US adults reported that they married or were in a committed relationship with someone they met on a dating app.² Dating apps are also most popular with the younger generation, aged 18-29 years old. The same study found that 48% of these young adults have joined dating apps and about 20% have reported that ended up in a committed relationship as a result.³ If these statistics don’t mean much to you, we're here to tell you that Two Love Birds also met through a dating app (shout out to Coffee Meets Bagel). While these apps can work, make sure you feel safe before meeting someone in-person. Dating apps are great in the sense that you can talk to people and vet them out before meeting them in real life. If you're not getting good vibes, swipe left. If you do like the person you've matched with and want to move forward, meet at a public place on the first date.

2. High School and College

High school and college are good places to grow your knowledge and your social circle, but they’re also the place where you can meet your significant other. Facebook data analysts reported that 28% of married couples attended the same college while 15% attended the same high school.⁴ These stats make sense because there’s so many opportunities where you might run into your future partner. You might share classes, be in the same clubs, have the same mutual friends, go to the same outings, live in the same residence hall, and so much more.

3. Mutual Friends and Family

Sometimes your friends and family know you more than yourself and if you allow them to interfere in your love life, they may be able to find a suitable match from their own networks. The larger your social circle, the more opportunities you have to meet friends of friends or friends of families. The plus point to this is that these potential matches have already been vetted for you so you’ll feel safe and can be yourself. In another study done by the Pew Research Center, 32% of US adults who are married, living with a partner, or in a committed relationship said that they met their current partner through friends and family.  With almost a third of a chance, it doesn't hurt to ask your parents and close friends!
