In 2010, recognizing the need for a community center in downtown Toronto, a group of individuals, with local support, rented a 2,000 sq ft unit, marking the beginning of Toronto Islamic Centre (TIC). Over time, TIC grew, attracting both new converts and those seeking guidance. In March 2019, faced with the non-renewal of their lease, the community rallied together to move to a larger location at 817 Yonge Street, fulfilling their dream of a permanent Islamic facility in the heart of Toronto. With the continued support of the community, TIC strives to make 817 Yonge St. its permanent home.
