About

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) represents the monotheistic Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition within Hinduism, tracing its roots to Lord Krishna over 5000 years ago. Founded in the West in 1966 by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada (Srila Prabhupada), ISKCON has evolved into a global network comprising over 500 temples, centers, communities, schools, and restaurants with approximately 250,000 devotees. The organization, committed to nonsectarianism and monotheism, aims to foster societal well-being by imparting the teachings of Krishna consciousness as delineated in the Bhagavad-gita and other ancient scriptures.
