Disha & Abhay's Minimalist Beach Wedding In Maldives

Met in school, failed a test together, and then parted ways only to meet again, but this time the schoolmates became lifemates for eternity. Disha and Abhay are each other’s people and both of them knew from the beginning that there is something special that's more than friendship between them which eventually they could not run away from. 

Love grew stronger and after 11 long years of dating and living on different continents, Disha and Abhay decided to tie the knot. 

Wedding Details

The couple was very clear from the beginning that they would have a small and intimate destination wedding and for that, they chose the most beautiful destination - Maldives. It was an intimate, but fun affair with only 50 of their close friends and family. Disha and Abhay started planning the wedding a month in advance, as it was initially planned for May, but it got postponed due to Covid. But as they say, everything's well that ends well, it stands true for the couple. Their minimalistic wedding ended up with everyone having a great experience and loads of memories.  

Engagement

For the engagement, they chose a beachside venue with a beautiful circular floral installation.

Disha chose a pretty pink Lehenga from Torani (@toraniofficial) and Abhay went with a classic three-piece suit to match her elegance.

They were looking absolutely stunning and Knotting Bells (@knottingbells) captured their love in pictures just perfectly.

Haldi Ceremony

The highlight of their whole wedding was definitely the Haldi Ceremony. As it was a beach wedding, everyone made the most of it and ended up jumping in the water eventually including the couple.

Dancing, singing, throwing colors at each other, smashing each other’s face with Haldi, the glowing faces of the couple, and the banterings of the family and friends - everything was just picture perfect and it turned out to be exactly how Disha and Abhay wanted it to be. They both chose simple, coordinated yellow outfits - the bride was seen wearing a yellow salwar suit and the groom in a yellow kurta with white pajama. 

Wedding Day

For the decor, Disha and Abhay wanted to make the most of the mesmerizing location and keep it simple. They wanted a classy, and minimalist wedding, and it truly turned out to be extremely beautiful. 

For the big day, Disha wore a blush pink lehenga from Tarun Tahiliani (@taruntahiliani) and completed her look with minimal makeup, and lightly highlighted cheeks.

Complementing the bride, Abhay looked dapper in a sherwani designed by  Anamika Khanna (@anamikakhanna.in)
